2016-18 Radiation Biology and Cancer Research, Mendonca Lab was granted $70,000 to support Technical Research efforts within the physical laboratory.

In 2017, Lions Cancer Control Fund also supported a new endeavor, 3-D Printing Program Research. $20,000 was gifted to purchase printers which will be used in research for the manufacture of patient treatment devices, or bolus. These devices will enhance the ability to customize treatment areas near the skin surface, and tailor radiation dose distribution to complex patient anatomy. Areas of use may include chest wall, head and neck, skin, pediatric and other, non-conformal areas.

The Lions of Indiana, through the Lion’s Cancer Control Fund of Indiana, Inc. have raised over $6.3 million for the purchase of cancer equipment, research, and education for the Department of Radiation Oncology. This work continues. July 2018.
